Short description

The project is split in 2 main components: MIRA Control Unit and MIRA Bluetooth App. MIRA Control Unit it's a intelligent Smoke Detector which is based on video camera to detect smoke in industrial places. MIRA BT App is used by DPU staff for installation processes, test, diagnosis and debug.

The challenge

Arobs, our partner company that develops the embedded part (MIRA Control Unit), was looking for a custom software company with a wealth of rich mobile development experience. After researching of serveral companies, he contacted UPGRID Software to build a mobile application for MIRA Smoking Detector.
The goal of the project was to provie a mobile application that helps DPU staff to connect to MIRA board using bluetooth to configure, test, diagnosis and debug the system.
Our team worked side by side with the Arobs team to obtain desired results in the most efficent time. UPGRID Software created a set of samples and prototypes for Arobs embedded division to assist them in their development and releasing process.

The solution

UPGRID Software met the tight schedule and the event provided the first operational version of the MIRA BT App in advance so the other members of the development and sales team could familiarize themselves with the app before the trade show.

Leveraging its experience in UX design to make adjustments to the main controls - including customized options and layout variations and improve the readability of the data provided by MIRA board.

Working with Arobs embedded team to optimize and improve the communication performance with the MIRA board

Development of a cross-platform app for iOS and Android, implement custom Bluetooth services, transport protocol, etc.

The result

UPGRID was able to capitalize on its success with Arobs and DPU project to create the Mira Smoke Detector, another innovative two-platform app with impressive functionality, for the company. Not only did they exceed expectations in a short timeframe, but they added functionalities beyond what Arobs expected. As a result, UPGRID Software delivered a cutting-edge product that was one of the main pillars of the MIRA project.
